My Early Sounds

Learnigo at Home: Our top resources are now condensed into bite-sized practices, perfect for learning at home. We've included plenty of parent-friendly tips and resources to make at-home progress simple and effective. These tools are also great for therapists and teachers to recommend and collaborate on with parents, ensuring continuous learning outside of the classroom.

This course focuses on foundational sounds that are typically acquired first in speech development. The sounds—B, N, M, P, H, W, D, T, Y—are considered “early” because they rely on basic movements of the lips, tongue, and vocal cords, making them easier for young children to produce as they begin speaking.

The exercises in this course are carefully structured to ensure consistent progress:

  • Sounds in Isolation: Learners begin by practicing each sound on its own to build accuracy.

  • Syllables and Words: Exercises move to combining sounds with vowels to form syllables and integrating them into words. Activities are categorized into initial, medial, final, and mixed word positions to target every use case.

  • Phrases: Learners work on short, meaningful phrases that reinforce the use of these sounds in conversational contexts.

  • Sentences and Text: Simple sentences and a short story are used to challenge learners to use these sounds naturally in connected speech. These are followed by a printable book containing a longer, funny poem and story that add an engaging and creative touch to practice.

This course lays the groundwork for speech development by helping learners master the easiest and most essential sounds.

By following a systematic and engaging approach that mirrors natural speech development, Learnigo at Home empowers learners to progress from early sounds to advanced articulation. The inclusion of printable resources like poems and stories ensures that practice is both practical and enjoyable, making this program an excellent tool for parents, therapists, and educators alike.
